Helm Training – Where learning works
Helm has been supporting young people aged 15 to 25 years, in Dundee, to gain education and employment, for over 40 years. As a grassroots organisation we have maintained our connections with communities as we have grown to work across Tayside.
Giving young people hands on experience of a job is crucial to them choosing a career and gives them an advantage over peers when applying for jobs. To make sure that young people gain the experience they want, we have partnerships with over 80 employers in Tayside. They offer placements, apprenticeships, employability and give talks and tours on the work environment and employer expectations.

BRIEF
I had the privilege of collaborating with Katie and Fiona from Helm Training to undertake a website redesign project that catered specifically to the needs of young people. Their goal was to create a user-friendly and inviting platform while adhering to their brand guidelines.
To achieve this, I initiated the project by conducting a thorough analysis of Helm Training’s business elements, focusing on the layout and structure that would best serve their objectives. My approach involved integrating content text, imagery and animation to craft a compelling user experience within the parameters of a clean and professional design. Special thanks to Ross for contributing to the visual aspects through his exceptional photography.
Working alongside Katie and Fiona was a delightful experience, and I’m honored to have played a part in bringing their vision to life. The end result truly reflects our collaborative efforts and their commitment to excellence. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with them again in the future.
